Floral Design
I have always enjoyed flowers.
With many avid gardeners in my family, I learned to appreciate the gifts of the earth as a child. I discovered my passion for floral design after attending a flower arranging workshop with my mother in 2014. I had so much fun creating that first arrangement. Like many firsts, it was far from pretty, but it was incredibly inspirational and exhilarating! I started buying flowers at the farmers market or grocery store, and I would practice making arrangements on my own. Eventually, I wanted to learn more and I decided to pursue a formal education by enrolling at the renowned Floral Design Institute in Portland Oregon, in 2019.

Contrasting my path as a violinist, I found my passion for floral design as an adult. As such, it has provided me with a therapeutic outlet and a profound opportunity to feel like a beginner again. My musical studies were not always easy, and for a long time I felt stagnant as an artist. Flower design is a kind of balancing force in my life, because it has helped free my creative energy and nurtured my artistic abilities with the violin.
Each design starts with an inspiration. I often choose a specific flower, color or musical piece as a starting point. From there, I get swept away in the flow and I never quite know what is going to form. That is probably the most enticing thing about floral design. Since the materials are earth formed, they are all unique and I love seeing how they combine into one larger piece of art.
