I found floral design during a particularly frustrating time in my life. At the time, I had been studying classical violin in academia for about ten years straight, and I was emotionally burned out. Contrasting the chronic anxiety and perfectionism I was experiencing as a musician, I found that playing with flowers was profoundly therapeutic. The colors, textures and scents inspired me to create freely in a way I had never experienced. In 2019 I received a certificate from the Floral Design Institute in Portland Oregon. Since then, I have continued to hone my craft and I decided to start Jamie’s Floral Notes to share my work. While I enjoy creating traditional floral arrangements, I find deep personal meaning in combining both my love of the violin with my love for flowers.
